Mood Foods

I’ve been looking to adjust my diet in hopes that it’ll increase my day-to-day mood. I’ve been doing some research, and I’ve come across some everyday foods that will be easy to incorporate into my future diet.

These 5 foods are scientifically proven to keep you happy: 


1.) Salmon 

According to Pharmacological Research, omega-3 fatty acids (found largely in salmon), can fight depression and improve your overall mood.


2.) Dark Chocolate 

It’s okay to indulge every once in a while. 🙂 Proteome Research has found chocolate to reduce stress and fill us will important antioxidants.


3.) Coffee

I’ve had a love-hate relationship with coffee, due to the fact of knowing it, in some cases, heightens my anxiety throughout the day. It turns out coffee can be used for good too, as it can decrease risk of depression.

4.) Green Tea

A Ohsaki Cohort Study found that there is a connection between green tea consumption and psychological distress. Those who drank more green tea through the day experienced lower stress levels than those who didn’t.


5.) Eggs 

Having trouble remembering things? At the age of 21, I’m already constantly finding myself forgetting important information, whether it be for school or just for everyday activities. Choline, found in the yolk of eggs, can be used to help boost memory and mood.
